I’d like to give APPLAUSE to Feather and Fur Animal Hospital in Aikahi Park Shopping Center.
My dog Boomer was extremely sick and we couldn’t figure it out. When his temperature was 104, Dr. Dekos said Boomer needed to be on fluids. The great staff of the animal hospital let me stay with him in an exam room for three days in a row from 8 a.m. to midnight, and staff members were so accommodating! They went above and beyond the call of duty. This is a very busy clinic, and for them to let me take up one of the exam rooms was extremely generous. They would also check on me to see if I needed water or bathroom breaks. Dr. Dekos was incredible, and I loved that she was proactive on getting him better. She explained everything thoroughly. Everyone was professional, courteous and beyond friendly! I cannot say thank you enough to Feather and Fur Animal Hospital for their hospitality and their amazing care for my Boomer.

Glad to hear Boomer is on the mend. Dr. Cindy Dekos says Boomer is stable but is still undergoing tests. “Joey Ann wanted to stay with Boomer, and we try to accommodate clients whenever possible,” she says. “It was no trouble having her, and we love seeing Boomer and her other dog Rio.”

“Thank you” is not enough to express my appreciation for the care I received at Kaiser Permanente. On a Dec. 17 I lost my mom to cancer, and on a Christmas Day I lost my dad to cancer. This year in December, I was told I may have the big “C,” so lots went through my mind and I needed some answers and guidance. Dr. Caroline Mee listened to my concerns, provided her professional advice, then took an additional step and said she would talk to the surgeon who performs these procedures. Later that evening, Dr. Mee gave me additional directions, provided me with the surgeon’s name and phone number, and wished me the best of luck.
The next day I contacted Dr. Lisa Grininger of Kaiser. She was in surgery, but two hours later my phone at work rings and it was Dr. Grininger, making sure I had all my questions answered.
The day of the surgery, not for a moment did I feel any fear or discomfort. The staff made sure I was comfortable at all times. In the surgery room we listened to nice music while we
talked as if we knew each other for years. When all was done, I left feeling so much at peace knowing no matter what the results I would be OK in such loving care. It was just amazing - the doctors, the radiologist and the staff (unfortunately, I did not get all the names) did not just provide care but literally gave from their hearts. I could not have been in better hands.
I hope the love and light that was shared with me will always be in their lives. Thank you all!

Dr. Lisa Grininger was my surgeon as well, so I can relate to your experience. Cancer surgery is frightening no matter how mentally and emotionally prepared you are. Dr. Grininger and the Kaiser staff made sure I knew I was not alone on this journey. She is in San Jose attending a conference with her husband this month, but took the time to write you a message. “Thank you much for your very kind words,” she writes. “Our team is very happy to know that you were reassured and comforted by the care you received. I am very fortunate to work with this group of people and appreciate your eloquent comments. Mahalo.”
