Dear Pamela,

My son Nicholas lost his wallet with all of his identification (including Social Security card) somewhere in the vicinity of the Waipio Jack in the Box. It contained some treasured photos of friends as well as bank cards, etc., so he was quite distraught. He returned to the area and searched to no avail; so we began the very tedious tasks of re-establishing his identity. However, simultaneously, an honest citizen, who as of this writing is anonymous to us, found the wallet and turned it over to HPD. My son now has his wallet with all the contents, including the money, intact.

Things like this reinforce your belief in the goodness of man. A big mahalo to whomever this person is, and may blessings flow continuously for them and their family.

Aloha Pamela,

I was passing through Triangle Park in Kailua when I fell and hurt my head. Two men came to help me, assisting me to my feet and giving me some ice water. I’m sorry I forgot to ask their names, but I appreciated their help very much. They deserve big APPLAUSE!

Dear Pamela,

I had the most harrowing, but spirit-renewing day! I encountered two wonderful lifesavers, Junior and Jun. I had a pleasant lunch with a girlfriend, then got into my car and found that it wouldn’t start. After calling my husband for a tow truck, a young man named Junior came to my aid and figured that the battery was dead. As he was checking, another young man, Jun, drove up and offered his jumper cables and had my car running again. These two gentlemen sent me on my way in no time and expected nothing for their kindness. Thank you, Junior and Jun, for coming to the aid of a desperate old lady. I hope this letter of APPLAUSE will be read by my two Good Samaritans.

Dear Betsy,

Yaeko and Leanna, Your anonymous angels did more than come to your aid in a time of need. They have inspired us all to live the spirit of aloha in the new year.
