President and Managing Director for Virgo USA dba Anteprima

Anteprima, the first Italian brand fashions created by Japanese designer Izumi Ogino in 1993, has a desire to astound women around the world with tasteful details and contemporary style. Anteprima’s collection has become famous and respected as a fashion icon in prestigious fashion locales around the world, including Italy, Hong Kong, Singapore, China, Japan, Taiwan, Korea and now - thanks to Virgo USA-Hawaii.

Anteprima Wirebags are hand-knitted and classic, and have become an icon in the world of fashion today. It carries an air of elegance and sophistication, yet there also is a hint of playfulness. At present, there are more than 200 styles and 50 colors available. Our collection offers handbags, shoes and accessories with a sense of “contemporary femininity.” Contrasting themes of traditional craftsmanship and forward-looking materials interweave light-hearted elegance and functionality into the lives of women on the go.

I have always loved the Anteprima brand since it launched in Japan, and was thrilled to see this great business opportunity here in the U.S., and very excited to be awarded the exclusive distribution rights for the U.S. region.

In December 2006, the first U.S. flagship Anteprima boutique, featuring handbags, shoes and costume jewelry, opened on the first level of Royal Hawaiian Center, an upscale shopper’s paradise in the heart of Waikiki, which has recently undergone an extensive $115-million revitalization. To our great delight, the boutique became the best-selling in the world! After one-and-a-half years of continued success, Anteprima in Ala Moana Center opened its doors in April 2008, on the Mall Level 2 near Nordstrom. Seven months later, on Nov. 1, 2008, Virgo USA opened Anteprima in Guam at the Tumon Sands Plaza.

In December of last year, in commemoration of our first two thriving years, we decided that it was our time to give back to the community by celebrating our second anniversary party in honor of Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children. The Virgo USA dba Anteprima Foundation donated $10,000 to Kapiolani, and our party guests also made generous donations as well.

When I first established Virgo USA more than two years ago, I wanted to create success through a strong team effort. I wanted to make sure that my employees are productive and efficient, but also happy and nurtured. Based on my past experiences, the best way to create and maintain a productive work force is to provide a comfortable environment for my employees, a place where they look forward to coming to work, and are able to learn and expand their abilities with ease. I felt that with this philosophy, I would be able to promote employee efficiency and my employees’dedication to their jobs - and it has been truly a success!

At this moment with our economy in crisis, I am giving my staff much more confidence to do their best in their jobs and their lives. We provide extensive additional training for skill development, and create an environment of enthusiasm and pride for our products and the Anteprima brand. The result is happier, loyal and highly skilled employees, and customers who enjoy a wonderful shopping experience, buy our product and are retained as loyal, long-term customers and friends.

Team effort comes from each and every one of my staff. I need my employees as much as they need me, so together we strive for excellence and represent Anteprima brand like no other. With great belief in our company’s future, I look forward to expanding our business on the Mainland soon!
