How good it is to be home! I grew up in Aina Haina, graduated from Saint Louis School and then headed to the Mainland for college. As many of us from Hawaii experience, career opportunities on the Mainland enticed me to stay away from home for a while. But always Hawaii remained in my heart, and now I’m glad to be back home.

I wanted to be sure that I found a company in Hawaii where I could take advantage of my 30 years of expertise in brand management and retail.

I’ve been honored to work for some of the world’s iconic retailers, including McDonald’s Japan, Starbucks, Nordstrom, American Eagle Outfitters, and most recently I served as chief marketing officer for Borders Books & Music.

Of course, the best opportunities are a “win” for all parties involved. Jon Martin and Lloyd Jones had been searching for just the right person to take over and lead Martin & MacArthur, the premier fine wood furniture company in Hawaii founded by Jon in 1961.

When it became clear that I had the opportunity to own and manage this prestigious Hawaii brand, I jumped at the chance. With its deep Island heritage and wonderful reputation, Martin & MacArthur is the kind of company that can succeed, even in the face of a softening economy.

Gracious living with Jon Martin, founder of Martin and MacArthur

Behind its solid reputation is the company’s dedication to quality and excellence. It’s a pleasure to see Jon Martin, Kalani Stasack and the other artisans of Martin & MacArthur craft

At Martin & MacArthur, we work together as a team to keep the fine art of koa furniture-making here in the Islands for generations to come. Each of our employees brings a special skill that is critical to our business success, whether working a lathe, sanding koa wood, oiling a finished rocking chair or creating retail elegance, our employees really make the difference!

Working together within our communities is equally important. At Martin & MacArthur, we have a strong commitment to giving back. We actively engage in activities that perpetuate the heritage of Hawaii and its natural resources. Our goal is to sustain the koa wood industry for generations to come - inspiring and supporting the artisans and wood-crafters of today and tomorrow.

Martin & MacArthur, along with our partners in woodcraft and design, elevate and inspire gracious Hawaiian living every day.
