Down to Earth ALL VEGETARIAN Organic & Natural opened its sixth Hawaii store at Kapolei Commons July 2. At 10,000 square feet, it is our largest and new flagship store.

Our expansion is in response to consumer demand. Customers from Kapolei and Makakilo have been asking us to come for years.

Kapolei is in an area where there is a food desert, with limited options for healthy foods. Unfortunately, like much of the western world, West Oahu is suffering from an epidemic of diet-related diseases including our nation’s three biggest killers: heart disease, cancer and strokes, as well as obesity, diabetes and a host of other ailments.

Since a plant-based diet can help treat and often reverse these diseases, Down to Earth is part of the solution.

We were founded at Wailuku Maui more than 30 years ago with the goal of improving the health of Hawaii’s island communities and contributing to a cleaner environment.

We do this by providing healthy natural and organic foods and educating people on how to live a healthier lifestyle. We support local and organic agriculture that produces foods grown without poisoning the land we live upon, the water we drink, and the air we breathe. We sell natural foods that are free of artificial chemicals and are minimally processed. And, we actively support labeling of foods containing genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Consumers have the right to choose what foods to eat, and GMO labeling enables consumers to exercise this right!

Down to Earth’s success is based on an unshakable commitment to both our vegetarian mission and the environment.

This is reflected in the décor of our new Kapolei location, which includes the prominent display of our new slogan developed with help from language experts at the University of Hawaii: “‘E Malama I Ka `Aina, E Ola Pono” (Cherish the Land, Live in Health and Harmony).

Down to Earth encourages everyone to consider that the single most important thing an individual can do for their health, for the environment, and for the sake of the innocent animals is to adopt a vegetarian diet. Eating delicious ALL VEGETARIAN Organic & Natural food is good for you and the environment.

Our aim is to help you: live longer, have more energy, maintain healthy weight, feel good and look great, and save money on health costs.
