Haseko Executive Vice President of Residential Sales and Marketing

Haseko has been building communities in Hawaii for more than 35 years, and I was fortunate to join the Haseko ohana 17 years ago.

During my tenure directing the residential sales and marketing efforts for the company, I’ve watched Ocean Pointe in Ewa Beach unfold. It started from a smart-growth concept on paper to a mature, family-friendly community sprinkled with pocket parks and neighborly conversation.

And now, I am handling the debut of our first resort residences - Ka Makana at Hoakalei.

Haseko’s commitment to excellence and innovation allowed us to challenge the conventional way most homes are built. We have worked with the city to make our distinctive pedestrian-friendly design a reality.

By doing so, Ocean Pointe became the first master-planned community on Oahu to feature service lanes behind each home, opening up the streets to beautifully landscaped front yards and inviting front porches instead of uniformed rows of carports or garage doors.

Building upon the tremendous success of our innovative, award-winning Ocean Pointe community, Haseko introduced Ka Makana at Hoakalei in April and was honored with 18 awards at this year’s Parade of Homes competition, including the prestigious “Grand Champion” and “Best in Show” Awards.

Ka Makana means “the gift” in Hawaiian. As the first resort neighborhood of the emerging Hoakalei Resort, people living in Ka Makana will enjoy beautifully appointed, gracious homes designed to enhance a free-flowing lifestyle - residences that are sanctuaries from the rest of the world. The unique designs are Energy Star qualified and Hawaii BuiltGreen, and reward homeowners with a private yard between their residence and garage.

When you’re ready for fun, you can head over to the planned Ka Makana Swim Club, a private neighborhood club with a pool and jetted spa, tennis court, fitness center, shady cabanas and barbecue areas. Add to that the allure of Hoakalei’s planned resort amenities and discover the valuable opportunity - a gift of sorts - to truly find yourself at Hoakalei and witness the dream becoming reality right before your eyes.

Just imagine - a grand marina inspired by an ancient story about a legendary spring on the Ewa Plain, Ernie Els’ signature golf course design at Hoakalei Country Club, exciting dining and entertainment possibilities, holistic treatments at the Wellness Retreat, and most importantly, a deep-rooted respect for Native Hawaiian culture that is shared with all by area kupuna who founded the Hoakalei Cultural Foundation. It’s all part of a string of precious pearls that will help preserve the rich history of the area while providing the modern luxury envisioned for Hoakalei Resort.

Plus, Ka Makana at Hoakalei and Ocean Pointe homeowners will reap the benefits of Haseko’s commitment to building a true community by providing land for a future district park, new fire station, expansion of One’ula Beach Park and other vital contributions and investments to enrich the lives of our residents.

We invite you to experience all that Ka Makana at Hoakalei has to offer. Our sales pavilion welcomes visitors from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, or you can call one of our friendly sales associates to schedule an appointment at 689-4438.
