Meadow Gold Dairies started out in Hawaii as the Dairymen’s Association more than a century ago.

Over the past 125 years, the company has experienced tremendous growth by adapting to the changing needs of our consumers.

We have continued to evolve along with our industry, competitors and community by embracing new technology in production and packaging and expanding various product lines. Though our milk and juice products have become household staples in Hawaii, in recent years we have developed other unique products for the local market. Consumers can now enjoy lychee, guava and haupia yogurt, as well as Kona coffee and macadamia nut ice cream. We’re also known for the world-famous POG juice, a blend of passion orange and guava juice.

Introducing new products is essential to remaining competitive in the marketplace and keeping our customers happy. It all starts in our nutrition lab where we come up with new and exciting ideas.

We begin an intensive flavor and quality-check process where flavors are mixed, sampled and tested. With our flavored products, we want flavors that the people of Hawaii will love so we involve our consumers by taking the prototype products out to the community for sensory testing. It can take up to two years to develop a new product.

Creating new flavors provides the opportunity to partner with local vendors to create a 100 percent Hawaii-made product. We make it a point to work with local farmers of all kinds - whether it is dairymen, guava, Maui sugar, macadamia nut or Kona coffee farmers - Meadow Gold is proud to support our local agriculture industry. Using island fresh ingredients allows us to produce and provide the finest products for Hawaii’s people.

Our newest reformulated addition to our premium ice cream line is the macadamia nut flavor. This ice cream features 100 percent Hawaii-grown macadamia nuts from the Big Island’s Hamakua Macadamia Nut Company.

We also recently introduced our new coffee and green tea yogurts. Yogurt is a great “on-the-go” healthy snack that provides lots of protein and calcium. It’s a great way to get the recommended daily dose of calcium and healthy pro-biotic bacteria that’s great for intestinal health.

As Hawaii’s dairy, our mission is to supply local families with quality dairy products that meet the needs of your demanding lifestyles. Our fat-free plain milk, fat-free chocolate milk and Skinny Cow fat-free milks are three such products. In the near future we will also introduce a fat-free strawberry milk and other fat-free milk flavors, as well as low-fat yogurts and ice cream flavors.

Meeting our consumers needs is very important to us. We continually strive to create products to suit our diverse community and serve Hawaii’s families. We hope that you consider us to be a part of yours.
