My parents divorced when I was 14, and my mother and I struggled through tough financial times. As a single mother, she worked long hours at the office heading her staffing business, Inkinen & Associates, to put me through school. Although I grew up around her business, I never thought I would one day own my own staffing firm. I always had a passion for art and wanted to pursue a career in the graphics field.

After high school I attended college in Los Angeles, where I majored in marketing and worked in the product-placement division of the entertainment industry. Although the job was very exciting, it wasn’t something that I wanted to do. After my graduation from college, my mother and I took a trip to China and discussed what I was going to do long-term. Who knew I would end up emulating my mother?

In 2001, a former business partner and I decided to franchise the nationally known Remedy Intelligent Staffing and recruit entry- to mid-level employees, whereas my mother’s firm recruits employees at the executive level.

At Remedy Intelligent Staffing of Honolulu, we specialize in temporary, tempto-hire, executive search and payroll services for positions in fields such as administration, light industrial, customer service, accounting, human resources, management and sales. We offer services that go beyond providing “temps” for employers.

In the past, agencies such as ours were used mainly to provide temps for vacationing or absent administrative employees. Today, the staffing business has evolved into one of the most relied-upon industries in the nation, especially during the current economic downturn. While the majority of businesses still value the temporary help that agencies provide, others are turning to us to help eliminate the stress of finding highly skilled employees and implementing work-force management solutions.

Hiring the wrong employee can be an expensive mistake in the time spent on training and in wages. According to a survey by the American Staffing Association, 59 percent of businesses use staffing firms for their full-time employee placements.

Remedy Intelligent Staffing of Honolulu has evolved into the perfect solution for both large and small companies because our clients want to increase flexibility for greater productivity, reduce hidden hiring costs, benefit from human resources expertise, minimize costly hiring mistakes and gain immediate access to a pool of talent.

At Remedy Intelligent Staffing of Honolulu, we help businesses avoid the stress, pressure and expense of hiring temporary or full-time employees. From recruiting, pre-screening and placement to ongoing performance validation and workforce management, we manage the time-consuming details so that our clients don’t have to. We are here to do the work for them.

We are so grateful to be in business for nearly 10 years. We owe thanks to our clients for letting us provide them with our quality and reliable service and to fulfill our commitment to them.

I owe any success that I have achieved to my mother because of the drive that she has. She has been the best example to me of a hard-working professional woman.
