This Month At Windward Mall

Windward Mall kicks off the fall season with a great lineup of events. On Sept. 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., enjoy free ukulele lessons with the Ukulele Club of Hawaii. Instrument tuning begins at 5 and lessons start at 6. Bring your own ukulele or borrow one.

On Sept. 16 from 5 to 6 p.m. and Sept. 17 from 2 to 3 p.m., jam with the kids of Rock Works School of Rock as they perform in the Center Court area. Also Sept. 17 from 5 to 9 p.m. is the Eastside Hot Rod Club Car Show. Join other car lovers and browse through more than 200 of your favorite makes and models while enjoying some great tunes.

A bone marrow donor awareness recruitment drive takes place Sept. 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This drive is about raising public awareness on the importance of bone marrow donation. Volunteer signups also will be available in addition to donor screenings.


On Sept. 24 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., bring the kids for a fun-filled educational adventure with Cartoonists Across America, NOAA and other partners. Then at 6 p.m. head to Windward Mall’s Paina Koolau Food Court for dinner and to watch the University of Hawaii Warriors take on the Utah State Aggies.

On Sept. 25 from 3 to 4 p.m., performers from Roy Sakuma Ukulele Studio take the stage.

New Stores At Ward Centers

Ward Centers welcomes five new merchants: Ocean Queen, CaraMia, Chelsea, The Patisserie and Divalicious. The complex also will welcome three seasonal stores: Santa’s Pen, Calendar Club and Go! Games.

CaraMia features a collection of Hello Kitty branded products and other items for girls. The store will offer customized theme parties, as well as premade party items created to order. CaraMia will be located at Ward Warehouse next to T&C Surf and opens Sept. 15. Ocean Queen opened Sept. 1 near Happy Haleiwa at Ward Warehouse and offers an array of yoga and meditation products. Chelsea opened Sept. 1 at Ward Warehouse next to Paina Cafe, and offers a variety of boutique products and an assortment of unique gift items.

Divalicious is scheduled to open in the first week of October in the space adjacent to Honolulu Chocolate Company at Ward Centre. The store carries contemporary women’s clothing, handbags, shoes and accessories.

The Patisserie opens at Ward Warehouse in October offering quality fresh-baked goods, as well as soups, sandwiches and more. Santa’s Pen features Hawaiian and traditional Christmas ornaments designed to be personalized, and a broad assortment of ornaments and personalized gifts. The store is located at Ward Warehouse next to Pictures Plus. Calendar Club opens Sept. 15 at Ward Warehouse next to Secured Gold Buyers.


Go! Games opens Sept. 15 at Ward Warehouse next to As Seen on TV and offers games for all ages, as well as puzzles, plush, toys and other novelty items.
