Rock-N-Swap: The Ultimate Eco-Shopping Party

In celebration of Earth Day, Trend-Events Inc. in cooperation with 2Flip Productions, Ltd., presents Rock ‘N Swap at Oceans 808 in Restaurant Row April 19.

According to event organizers, Rock ‘N Swap is a guilt-free chic solution that involves getting fashionistas, divas and stylish, savvy, resourceful women of all ages, styles and sizes to bring and swap clean, gently used clothing and accessories that would typically be donated or consigned.

There also will be booths featuring a variety of fashion and beauty products and services, including complimentary spa treats and mini makeovers. And there will be eco-centric fashion shows, entertainment, prizes and more.

A portion of the funds received and any unclaimed items will benefit the Hawaii State Coalition Against Domestic Violence.


 

Tickets to Rock ‘N Swap are $10 pre-sale and are available online at www.islandtix.com or by phone at 1-888-394-SWAP. Tickets at the door are $15. This event is open to adults 18 years and older.

Doors open at 5 p.m. to submit all intended swapping merchandise and the swapping event starts at 7:30. Complimentary ‘Green Glam’ goody bags will be given to the first 100 paid entries to the event.

University of Hawaii Students Present Sew’d Out


The University of Hawaii College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources presents the Apparel Product Design & Merchandising Program’s graduating seniors and upcoming junior design students in its annual fashion show luncheon April 26 at the Pacific Beach Hotel.

This year’s show, titled Sew’d Out, features the collections of 11 senior designers, with creations in three categories: Aloha Wear,Alice in Wonderland and Origami.
