Where and with whom did you see the movie?
I saw it at Ward Cinemas. I went with my boyfriend, Max Sword.
Overall, what did you think?
I loved it. I gave Max a primer before we saw it. He liked the one-liners; he thought they were funny. It was a great movie version of the show. It really brought a lot things to fruition.
How well did the TV show translate onto the big screen?
They made it more big-screen-worthy. It seemed bigger, the story was bigger. A lot of issues that maybe take a whole season to resolve, it translated them really well.
As a fan of the show, were you satisfied with the movie’s story and outcomes for the various characters?
I thought it was going to be one of those movies where we’d be left with things hanging or kind of negative, but it was a great ending. I liked the ending a lot because it resolved a lot of issues.
Do you relate to one of the ladies more than the others?
You know, I closely identify with Carrie because she’s a writer, and really basically I am a writer, too. I probably least identify with one of the other characters, Samantha. She’s a publicist and she’s a really promiscuous woman, and you never saw her doing anything realistic.They never show her doing any actual work.
What about the acting, did anyone stand out?
Jennifer Hudson made an appearance.She’s such a likeable actress. She, to me, had a harder role. She had to stack up to the other women we know and love already. She really held her own. I was surprised to read that Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie) didn’t identify with her character at all, because she’s so convincing.It shows that she’s a good actress. All of the ladies brought their character to the big screen very, very well.
What I appreciate about the four main characters is that they show the layers of their characters.The movie allowed them to show all their different layers; it’s more realistic. They really picked up well after the three years since the TV show ended.
On a scale of one to four stars, what would you rate this movie?
I would give it ★★★1/2.
To whom would you recommend this movie?
All women.A lot of things the women talk about are the same things I’ve talked about with my friends. I could totally relate to the conversations that they had.
Favorite movie snack?
Popcorn - no butter - with mochi crunch,and Diet Coke all the time.
What’s your favorite type of movie to watch?
You know,I like almost every kind of movie.
How often do you go to the movies? At least once a week, even if we go to the last movie of the night. My life is so crazy-busy all the time, movies actually allow me two hours of escape every week.

Coming up is Flavors of Honolulu, that’s going to be at the end of this month, on June 27-29. It’s a fundraiser for Abilities Unlimited celebrating 25 years of helping people with disabilities get job training and job placement.
