Where and with whom did you see the movie?
I saw the movie at the Ward Complex with my friend Keith Coates, who came all the way from South Africa to do this. (laughs)
Overall what did you think?
The storyline could have been better and the cinematography could have sped up a little bit more. The movie took a long time to develop, and it felt long at certain points, but you know they still have to character-build. This is an extremely intense and emotional movie, but when you have Jodie Foster in anything, you know that you are going to be treated by one of the greatest actors of all time.
What was your favorite scene?
There is a scene in a coffee shop with Terrence Howard and Jodie Foster when he “knows” who is doing these killings, and the intensity of that scene between Terrence and Jodi made me realize what a treat it was to be watching some great actors.
Would you recommend the film?
Hmm? I don’t know if this is a date movie. The movie is graphic and not a happy movie. But I think it would be a great friend movie. Very thought-provoking and extremely intense.
What actor had the best performance?
I think that as interesting as this story-line was, it was Jodie Foster who pulled it together.Terrence Howard does a great job with his role, but Jodie clearly outshines him. It could be one of those movies that doesn’t do great in ticket receipts, but the actor gets an Academy nomination.
Could you relate to Jodie Foster’s character?
Yes! I think anyone who has gone through a death of a loved one or a breakup with someone would probably catch themselves understanding the pain Jodie Foster goes through. Interestingly, there is a parallel with the character Terrence Howard plays, but how he deals with his loss is very different from the way Jodie addresses her loss.
Was the storyline realistic?
I lived in New York City for almost five years and I have to say the storyline is unrealistic. There is also a massive emotional transition Jodie’s character makes, and I would imagine a mental transition like that would not allow for normal living without raising enough red flags around you - even in NYC.The concept of vigilante killings in New York isn’t new. But to do this post 9/11 in New York City and get away with it is unrealistic. I have been on subways at 1 a.m. heading out of the Brooklyn area or getting lost near Yankee Stadium past midnight and it’s not that bad.

What is your favorite movie snack?
Usually I sneak in some snacks. Come on, we all do, right? But gummy colas rule.
What is your favorite movie of all time?
When I was a kid I thought King Kong was cool. Then Star Wars. But I enjoy movies by (Martin) Scorsese.The Big Chill maybe? ‘Cause I can tip my hat to my alma mater. Go Blue!
Who is your favorite movie buddy?
Well, if there are any single ladies out there at this moment, give me a call at ... (laughs)
What’s new?
Cowabunga! Computers is exploding right now and we decided to open up a full-service repair center in the Pearl Kai Shopping Center.We continue to work closely with our corporate and government accounts, but decided to open up a shop for our residential customers who have been asking us for this for a long time. We will be opening during the second week of October and will have a huge bash to open, so come on down for pupus, tech tips, great music and fun.
