Where and with whom did you see the movie?
I saw the movie at Dole Theatres with a friend.
Overall what did you think?
The movie was good,but it wouldn’t be the top of my pick list.
How realistic do you think the film was?
The movie was very realistic, although we will never know what really happened on flight 93.
What was your favorite scene?
At the ending, when the group of men got together and overpowered the hijackers.
Did you have a favorite character?
No favorite character in the movie.I did resent the hijackers of United 93 though.
How would you rate the acting?
The actors were very good. It would take good actors to pull off the scenes knowing the outcome of the flight and the devastation that America felt when the Trade Center and the Pentagon were hit.
How were the special effects?
It almost felt as if you were actually on the flight as it was going down. I was on the edge of my seat, because I knew the ending. Yet there was still hope that it would be different.
Did the movie have a meaning?
Yes,it showed America’s false sense of security and the breakdown of communication in a disaster situation.It brought the issue of terrorism for the country to come together and build quick response teams within the states and within the federal government.
Some people were saying they thought it was “too soon” for this film. What do you think?
It has been five years since the World Trade Center (attack), yet as the movie started all the emotions came back and I found myself in an agitated state. I think it is still a sore subject,and the reality of the whole thing came to light watching this movie. I don’t know if there will ever be a right time for a movie like this.
What was the best/worst aspect about the movie?
The best aspect of the movie would be that due to this incident, the security around the nation has been put in place.Now when traveling there is a feeling of safety and assurance that you are safe. I travel a lot and see people complain about the security at the airport.I appreciate the fact that they are doing their job and protecting us from another disaster.The worst aspect is the way the people in charge of our air traffic were so nonchalant when informed of a possible hijacking of a plane.They were in disbelief because it was a rarity for a plane to be taken over - there was really no concern until the controller who first felt that something was wrong demanded that he be heard and it was not a joke.
Is it a movie that you would see again?
No, unless I had to. I liked the movie, but it was too intense for me.
To whom would you recommend the film?
My brother is an air traffic controller; I’m not sure if I would recommend for him to see the movie,but I thought about how hard a job these people have and what they must have felt not knowing what planes had been hijacked and where they were going. I wouldn’t want that job; it makes me appreciate my job more.
On a four star rating, with four being the highest what would you rate the movie?
Three stars. It was a good movie.
What’s your favorite movie?
The Birdcage.I love that movie.When it first came out I saw it with five different friends and each time it got funnier. I still think about some of the scenes and laugh to myself.
What genre of movies do you like?
Comedy because I love to laugh. My job is serious enough,sometimes you just need to watch a movie that really makes you laugh.
