as told to Kerry Miller

Where and with whom did you see the movie?

I saw it at Koko Marina Theaters with Alison Kam.

Overall, what did you think?

I would definitely see it again.

Did you like Hugh Jackman as Wolverine?

It’s always good to see Hugh, especially as Wolverine. I got to meet and work with him in Van Helsing and it was good to see him on the big screen again. Wolverine is supposed to be short, and Hugh’s 5-foot-11. He brings so much life to the character you forgive him for being tall.

Are you familiar with the story of Wolverine from Marvel comics?

It’s hard to slam like 30 years of comic book history into one movie, but they did a pretty good job.It wasn’t terribly accurate, but if you don’t know anything about the comics you’ll like the characters.

Who are the other X-Men/Marvel characters featured in the movie? Do the actors fit their roles well?

Sabertooth, he used to be played by Tyler Mane in X-Men (2000) and was replaced by a more well-known actor,Liev Schreiber. He did an interesting job as Sabertooth; it was pretty neat.Ryan Reynolds played Deadpool - he did a really good job, great. For the ending, they kind of changed the character not even close to what the comic book was. They’re doing a Deadpool movie, and hopefully they’ll do that character justice in that.

They fit the roles pretty well. I would like to have seen Tyler reprise his role of Sabertooth, but Liev did a good job.

Were there any cool special effects in the movie?

It’s loaded. I couldn’t pick one; it’s all really good. The camera work was good; the wire work was excellent. There was a really cool scene with this character called Agent Zero flipping over the front gate of a building. The work was impressive.

What was your favorite scene or who was your favorite character?

Definitely Wolverine is my favorite character. Favorite scenes, there are a lot.The opening was good, where they did a composite of him throughout the ages in the colonial wars,

World War I in special ops.

That was neat to see him and the Sabertooth character through all the time periods. There’s a scene in a bathroom where he tries out his new claws and destroys the sink.

On a scale of one to four stars, what would you rate this movie?

Definitely ★★★★.

To whom would you recommend this movie?

Pretty much everybody.

What’s new?
