LOCAL REALITY STAR bounty hunter Duane “Dog” Chapman bet Criss Angel that he couldn’t escape from the Dog’s knots at the bottom of the Luxor pool. After being tied to a chair with a lead weight, Angel struggled for several minutes. Criss says “I thought I’d died. I thought I’d failed the escape, but Dog told me he was absolutely astounded that I’d succeeded in getting my hands and feet loose. So now I’m going to his home in Hawaii and we’ll film the escape twice more so it’s a best of three.”

THE BARBARY COAST has changed its name to Bill’s Gambling Hall and Saloon. It’s all part of the ownership swap between Harrah’s Entertainment and Boyd Gaming.

HOW MUCH is that casino in the window? $8.8 billion - that’s $5.5 billion for the casinos and assumption of $3.3 billion in debt. This makes the Stations Casino buyout at about half the value of the Harrah’s sale.

ELIZABETH TAYLOR celebrated her Diamond Jubilee, her 75th birthday, with a private Vegas party. Longtime pal Michael Jackson was supposed to stop by, although guests did not report seeing the King of Pop.

NBC HAS renewed Las Vegas for another season (2007-2008) ... with 9 million viewers nationally, the show is No. 1 on Friday nights. The bad news is that Nikki Cox and James Caan will not be a part of season five. Caan said “I’ve had a wonderful four years, worked with great people and made friends for life working on Las Vegas, but I am eager to return to where my heart is, which is film.”

IF YOU’RE looking for Michael Jackson’s new 16,000-square-foot Vegas home, just look for the sign that says “Future home site of Frank Marino.” He’s the Joan Rivers impersonator and star of the Rivera’s long running show, An Evening at La Cage. Marino said, “It’s the Queen of Las Vegas on one corner and the King of Pop on the other”... Miami Heat guard Gary Payton’s home is stuck in the middle.
