WHEN ASKED WHY James Caan and Nikki Cox left Friday night’s No. 1 show, executive producer Gary Scott Thompson said “When you’re on a drama, it is an eight-day episode, anywhere from 12 to 18 hours a day, five days a week, for almost 11 months straight.
