WELCOME to Kimo’s Vegas ... The Player’s Edge!
Miss Hooters International contestants
I FOUND IT a little strange that during the same week that Miss Hooters International, Michelle Nunes, hosted the casino’s Teeny Weenie String Bikini contest, the hotel says it wants to market itself as a couples destination. It launched a new ad campaign to convince women that Hooter’s is not just for guys anymore by promoting economical room rates and a casual atmosphere.
The thinking (and we use that term loosely) is that Hooter’s Girls dressed in tank tops and shorts are wholesome by Vegas standards. Any guys who can sell this concept to his significant other should consider a career in media sales.
ANOTHER THING that’ll make you say DUH! The folks who pass out those small fliers for escort services on the Strip have gotten support from a federal judge. Clarke County created an ordinance that would allow police to arrest “slappers” (the nickname they got because they slap the fliers against their hand). Ten years and $100,000 in legal fees later, the judge says the law violates the slappers’ free speech.
NO NEED to send tilapia or babingka to Vegas anymore ... Seafood City on Maryland Parkway (next to the Boulevard Mall) is a Filipino full-service supermarket where they’ll even clean and fry the fish for you.

THE WORLD SERIES of Poker is expecting 10,000 players this year. Because of the record number of attendees, early registration and reservations are well advised. Because of the new online poker law, organizers are not accepting any entrants who qualified in tournaments online this year. The WSOP starts June 1 at the Rio.
THE MANDALAY BAY Events Center hosts Ricky Martin’s Black & White Tour April 21. Worldwide the singer has sold more than 55 million albums. The concert will feature songs from his MTV Unplugged album and his eight No. 1 singles. A portion of the tour’s proceeds will be donated to the Ricky Martin Foundation to promote the well-being, social justice, education and health of children around the globe. Shaka bra!
