The energy drink from Las Vegas-based Redux Beverages has been pulled from stores as a result of pressure from the USFDA and state officials, because they believe it glamorizes drug use. Before you panic and go back to getting it the old-fashioned way, the company plans to change the drink’s name while they continue to fight for the use of the Cocaine name. Does this mean we’ll have to bleep the Eric Clapton song, or stop using Yves Saint Laurent’s “Opium”?

DUKE UNIVERSITY, a highly respected, private research university, recently conducted a study using functional magnetic resonance imaging to measure the response related to neural activity in the brain. They found that sleep deprivation increases activity in the area of the brain that anticipates reward when making high-risk/high-payoff choices. In other words, you’ll lose more when you’re tired ... duh!
