“WHAT HAPPENS in Vegas, Stays in Vegas” is the most successful campaign in the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority’s 51-year history. To date they’ve spent $131 million in advertising using the slogan. Last week, however, officials applied for the trademark"Your Vegas is Showing,“saying “It implies that you are living outside of your everyday life.” The new slogan will be researched to see how well folks respond to it. I think it’ll work - if they use the slogan with those pictures of Britney Spears getting out of the limo without her undies.

THE LADY LUCK may be breaking her streak of bad luck if Los Angeles developer CIM Group is approved to purchase the property. A local fave, the hotel/casino has been closed for more than a year.

TWO-TIME Indy 500 winner Al Unser Jr. sideswiped another car on the Las Vegas Beltway last week. He was arrested after failing several sobriety tests and charged for driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident. Everyone knows F1 drivers don’t stop after hitting someone unless the yellow flag comes out.

DISNEY CHANNEL star Hillary Duff (Lizzie McGuire) brings her “Dignity” world tour to the Pearl at the Palms Aug. 18. The TV, movie and recording star has three platinum albums, which have sold more than 13 million copies. Her latest, War Inc., stars John Cusack and is scheduled to be released later this year.
SHERWOOD SCHWARTZ produced the popular TV series The Brady Bunch and Gilligan’s Island. Now he, his son and daughter plan to bring Gilligan’s Island: The Musical to Vegas. So far they’ve got Barry Williams (Greg Brady) on board ...
