The girls flatly deny they’re doing it for the money, saying,“It’s about celebrating the past and enjoying each other. It’s about our fans” ... Makes you wonder what’s in their tea.

THE SPICE GIRLS DIET ... Victoria Beckham has put her band mates on a diet of edamame, strawberries and lettuce (bunny food). The real secret to their shapely abs is probably the required 200 daily sit-ups.

SPEAKING OF BUNNIES, Hugh Hefner has announced plans to build a 40,000-square-foot entertainment resort complex called The Playboy Mansion Macao. The head playboy said, “With the tremendous success of the Playboy Club Casino at the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas, we are extremely pleased to extend our location-based entertainment to Asia, where our brand has been strong for years.” My all-time favorite Hef quote: “My life is an open book, with illustrations.”

NO LESS THAN six developers have submitted proposals to build a complex capable of housing a professional hockey or basketball team. The pitches include a $4 billion development which includes a 124-story hotel with arena, casino and retail space. The players include the owners of the LA Staples Center, a part owner of the Detroit Pistons and a part owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers (hint, hint). Good news for us locals: The new arena will be in walking distance to the downtown hotels we love to visit.

FEELING LUCKY? The math says you should hit the royal flush at video poker about once every 40,000 hands. My friend Ron, an avid VP player who’s been going Vegas four or five times a year for quite a few years, has never hit a royal. Richard Brodie (the original author of Microsoft Word), however, has hit four royals in the last year, two of them in the span of a couple of days. When you’re playing the $100 machine (that’s $300 a hand), hitting the royal is a $240,000 payoff!
