Catch The Eagles (remember them?) Farewell
I Tour at the MGM Grand Garden
Arena in October

WELCOME TO Kimo’s Vegas. This week on the radio, more secrets from the “Queen of Comps” Jean Scott, and Gary Furutani, a Kalani grad and dice dealer at the Fremont Hotel and Casino, Thursday at 9 a.m. and again on Friday at 6:30 p.m. on KKEA 1420 am.

OUR DEEPEST condolences to local Stardust executive George Oishi and family on the loss of his son in-law Eric Aoyagi.

NEXT MONTH at the Hilton, check out the $75,000 Hot Summer Nights Slot Tournament with $30,000 prize money for first place and $15,000 for second place.

CONGRATS TO Chris Albrect on his promotion to executive chef of Tom Colicchio’s Craftsteak in the MGM Grand. Many consider it the best steak restaurant in North America, and it’s the only place on the Mainland you’ll get Hawaiian grass-fed beef from the Big Island’s Kulana Foods.

OLD ROCKERS never die … they just go on a farewell tour. The Eagles Farewell I Tour (does the Roman numeral suggest we can expect more?) — Join Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit at the MGM Grand Garden Arena Saturday Oct. 15. Remember when they sold out Aloha Stadium in 1995?

AT THE Aladdin (the future home of Planet Hollywood), it’s the Mickey Thomas version of the Starship setting down Sept. 3 and 4.

MALASSADAS are on Charles Sherman, who won $10,000 on a dollar 10X pay at the Fremont.

THERE GOES the neighborhood! Oprah Winfrey and Celine Dion are getting a new neighbor in Lake Las Vegas … Simon Cowl.

EVERYONE’S heard the phrase “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!” Did you know it was created by R&R Partners, the Las Vegas PR firm that works for and got paid $66.5 million last year by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority? Well, the famous phrase is big news because the LVCVA sold the rights for the phrase to R&R Partners for $1. People are nuha because the licensing for the phrase (on T-shirts, souvenirs and the like) is potentially worth millions of dollars.

Suzy Sake

THE IMPERIAL PALACE has completed many renovations and is looking to bring its animated character Suzy Sake to life. If you like public appearances, photo and video shoots, send them a resume, head shot and full body shot. AFI, the American Film Institute’s top 100 movie lines of all times missed one of my faves: “Money won is twice as sweet as money earned.” — Paul Newman from The Color of Money.

THERE’S A NEW celebrity slot machine … joining the ranks of Frank Sinatra, Lucille Ball, Elvis, Regis and Don Ho is Andre Agassi. No truth to the rumor that when you lose it stomps around, spitting and cursing …

CONGRATS TO Bob Hee, who won tickets to see the Fab Four at the “V” Ultimate showroom. E-mail .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). com to enter our weekly random drawings. Send us your Vegas tips, pictures and trip reports too. Get more Kimo’s Vegas in MidWeek’s the Weekend and on Hawaiian105 KINE with Brickwood Galuteria every Friday morning around 7:35.
