THE FREMONT has been on a huge winning streak (or is that a losing streak?) ... first one car then another less than a month later, followed by a $30,000 Pai Gow hit.Last week the $1 Wheel of Fortune made TV producer Robert Alan Harshbarger of Anaheim, Calif., an instant millionaire. JUST IN TIME for the Presidents Day weekend ... the owners of the Monte Carlo, MGM Mirage, have announced the reopening of the hotel that we’ve all seen ablaze. On Friday, Feb. 15 at least 1,200 rooms will be available and another 1,300 rooms should be open by Feb. 22. The remaining 500 rooms that were damaged by water, smoke and fire are being renovated and will open later.
THE GRAND OPENING of the Hawaiian Tropic Zone (at the Planet Hollywood, Miracle Mile Shops) had celebs Carmen Electra (actress), Stacey Keibler (WWF), Reggie Bush (NFL),Robin Leach and locals Phyllis Kihara, Myra Rabanal, Arlene Iwamoto and Lee Hacohen groovin’ to the sounds of local Hawaiian exotica band, Don Tiki. KIMO’S VEGAS TIP: Call your uncle, auntie, cousin, brother, sister or Vegas friend because Cirque du Soleil’s KA is offering a 50 percent off the regular ticket prices ($99 and $125) for the first 50 tickets to each Wednesday show. The deal is good through April 12, but only locals (Nevada residents) can buy the discounted seats. Call the KA box office and tell them you like da “LOCAL” discount.
