Well said, Coach
Kudos to Coach Larry Price for his column “Stop Bullying At The Source.” Coming from a former professional football player and college coach, this really says a lot, and hopefully our youths will get the message: Bullying is not cool.

Shining a light
We are so pleased that MidWeek selected the story on the Boys & Girls Club as the cover story. You shined a bright light on the good works we are doing, as well as highlighted our top leadership. It is huge exposure for a nonprofit organization such as ours to get this kind of publicity. MidWeek is truly providing a valuable community service.

Occupy a ballot
Jerry Coffee’s column regarding Occupy Wall Street was outstanding. I’ll bet he gets hundreds of nasty remarks regarding this one, but not from me. Shades of Vietnam, he is absolutely correct. I see certain members of the media wrapped up in it along with some no-brain politicians. How many of those out there demonstrating have any idea what is going on? Robin Hood was a legend, and Obama ain’t Robin Hood. Keep up the great writing, Mr. Coffee, and I’ll keep reading. I’ll keep respecting the flag and what it stands for as long as I live.
This democracy we live in is what we make of it, not what the politicos tell us it is. Like Mr. Coffee, I vote, and that gives me the right to complain, those who don’t vote have no voice, period. I believe that if anyone were to check, most of the protesters have never voted and are not even registered.

Breast paranoia
What is with all this paranoia about a woman’s Kea Ho’s semi-naked breast?
What is offensive is that this very vocal minority gets to make rules on what we can and cannot see. Grow up, America!

Oh no, bikinis!
Paging through last week’s MidWeek, I was impressed with the Style photo spread on Little Black Dress and Bikini.
After the kerfuffle about Kea Ho’s cover story, thought I’d better dash off a positive note to counterbalance the church-lady letters you’re sure to get.
