Not too smart

So Bob Jones thinks that President Obama may be too smart to lead. Things must be bad when the faithful start making excuses for this failed presidency. Jones’ real message is that those of us who were not dazzled by the former cub senator and community organizer who claimed that he was going to heal the Earth and make the waters recede are too dumb to recognize genius. How smart is it to stoke class envy, promote a divisive political environment, demonize business while we experience a recession, apologize for America’s supposed past sins to win friends overseas, propose deeply unpopular legislation and continue to whine about the tough hand he was dealt? Wonder why Obama is having trouble leading?

Update needed

I was sure that Bob Jones was speaking tongue in cheek when he suggested that Obama may be too smart to lead. Reading on, I realized that he was serious. But while trying to convince us of Obama’s cerebral power, Jones noted that the smart Obama spoke out of order regarding the Ground Zero mosque. In the next sentence, he said, “smart people take time to look at facts and don’t fly off into high rhetoric” as Obama had just done to a room full of Muslims. The base comment about the “tight-crotch flight suit” can be filed alongside the liberal drooling over Obama’s abs while vacationing in Hawaii. Let’s be fair - Obama appears to be taking time to look at facts and not fly off into high rhetoric as a smart man would do only because he’s waiting for his teleprompters to be updated.

Neil’s record

Thank you, Susan Page (“A Closer Look At Abercrombie’s Record”), for giving me another main reason to vote for Neil Abercrombie. We need more honest politicians like him! And kudos to Neil for voting his conscience and, unlike most of the House and Senate members, for not bowing down to AIPAC and the Zionist lobby.

No comparison

Regarding Bob Jones’ column about the Shinto shrine near Pearl Harbor: The Japanese were no longer a threat to us. They had surrendered and were not still trying to kill Americans in various parts of the world. The comparisons are very different.
