Ronald K. Migita has been named president and chief executive officer for Central Pacific Financial Corp. Migita also will continue to serve as chairman of the board of both Central Pacific Financial Corp. and Central Pacific Bank. He has more than 40 years of banking experience.
Geoff Pearson has been hired as director of sales for Halekulani. Pearson will be responsible for managing the hotel’s sales division and global strategic sales initiatives. He previously was director of sales for the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows on the Big Island.
Rose D.Choy has been promoted to chief financial officer for Kahi Mohala Behavioral Health. Choy has been with Kahi Mohala since 1995 and previously served as controller. She has nearly three decades of health-care finance and accounting experience and has held positions with Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific and Kapiolani Medical Center.
Kenwei Chong has been elected president of The GIFT Foundation of Hawaii for 2008. The GIFT foundation is a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to supporting charitable groups in Hawaii and is run by young professionals committed to their communities. Chong also is the owner of E&O Trading Co.
Jerry Felipe has been named branch manager of American Savings Bank ’ s University of Hawaii at Manoa location. As branch manager, Felipe will oversee all branch operations and sales functions. He joined the bank in 1997 and has served in various positions, including consumer loan officer and personal banking officer.
Christopher J. Cole has rejoined C arlsmith Ball LLP as a partner in the Honolulu office. Cole first joined Carlsmith Ball in 1991 as a summer clerk and later became an associate in its labor and employment section. He left the firm in 1994 and worked for McCorriston Miller Mukai MacKinnon. Cole specializes in the areas of civil litigation, with an emphasis on labor and employment law, real estate litigation, professional liability and more.
Dean Kapoi has been promoted to vice president, H u m a n Resources and Labor Relations for Young Brothers, Ltd./Hawaiian Tug & Barge. He previously served as manager of Freight Operations. Kapoi joined the companies in 1999, initially as a labor relations specialist.
William A. Brizee has been appointed Hawaii State Alliance co-chair for the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) for the 2008-2009 term. As a principal of Architects Hawaii , Brizee has been an active member of ICSC since 2000. As co-chair his responsibilities include assisting the association in educating both the public and private sector about ICSC’s Alliance program, among others.
