Eric Nelson has been named managing principal for RIM Architects, Hawaii. He returns to the Islands after having worked in RIM’s Alaska, California and Guam offices. Nelson has 30 years’ experience in the industry, including government, military and private-sector projects throughout Hawaii and the Pacific Region.

Vincent Brunetti has been hired as executive assistant manager food and beverage for the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort & Spa. In this position, Brunetti will oversee all food and beverage operations at the four restaurants operated by the resort, among other duties. Prior to this, he worked as the food and beverage director at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach.

Pearl Hahn has been appointed a policy analyst for The Grassroot Institute of Hawaii. Hahn previously served as a policy intern at the Grassroot Institute and helped to create the Institute’s 2008 Hawaii Legislative Scorecard. She also has held positions at the Department of Homeland Security and the Public Diplomacy Council.

Kevin Washington has been hired as controller for Suntech Hawaii. In his new position, Washington will be responsible for managing the company’s accounting practices and financial relationships with clients, vendors and financial services firms. With more than 15 years of accounting experience, he previously served as controller for Akamai Homes Inc. of Kapolei and Hardware Hawaii Ltd. of Kailua.

Johnna Ehmke has been appointed grants management program officer for the Battleship Missouri Memorial. Ehmke most recently held the position of advertising and promotions manager at the memorial. Her duties now include supporting fundraising activities of the nonprofit organization by managing the grants program.

Russell Park has been named senior vice president of Atlas Insurance Agency’s client consulting group. Park will oversee business development, sales and servicing of commercial clients. He has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, including alternative risk funding and risk management techniques.

Virginia Weinman has joined the Friends of the Cancer Research Center of Hawaii’s board of directors. As a member of the board, she will provide guidance and leadership to support the mission of the center. Weinman is a philanthropist and also serves as president of the Weinman Foundation, which supports charitable education and philanthropic causes.

Kainani Quiacusan has been promoted to office manager for Hawaii Self Storage. Quiacusan previously served as customer service representative and will now manage daily office duties, including scheduling, staffing and training, sales of the facilities, as well as security procedures review and enhancement.

Joe McAdams has been appointed regional director of accounts-East for the Hawaii Convention Center (HCC). Based in the HCC’s Washington, D.C., sales office, McAdams will be responsible for the reservation and booking of the HCC’s complete product line as well as coordinating the dayto-day sales efforts.

Collin Dang has been named chief executive officer for Hawaii Medical Center (HMC). As a cardiovascular surgeon, Dang was most recently chief of cardiac surgery at HMC East. He also serves as a clinical assistant professor of surgery at the John A. Burns School of Medicine.

Kawika Burgess has been hired as Hawaiian Islands native lands coordinator for the Trust for Public Land (TPL). In his new position, Burgess will focus on protecting lands that are important to Hawaiian communities and Hawaiian culture.
