Nikki N. Saunders has been promoted to office manager for Hoala Landscape and Maintenance. Her responsibilities include providing administrative and program support, including preparing and maintaining client accounts.
Garrett Miyake has been named project developer for Distributed Energy Partners. Miyake brings more than 25 years of sales and management experience to the company. He will work to help educate business owners on how they can use solar energy as an investment in their business and future, and will deter-mine the best system and financing options available to meet their needs.
Alvin Katahara has been hired as director of Annual Giving for University of Hawaii at Manoa Athletics. In this position, Katahara’s responsibilities include coordinating and developing an annual giving campaign that supports and raises funds for all athletic programs.
Mark Phillipson has been named general manager for Syngenta’s Hawaii operations. Phillipson will lead the company’s extensive Corn and Soy Product Development and Supply Chain facilities. He most recently worked for Merck & Co., where he held senior positions for more than 20 years.
Sayaka Ogura has been named a member of the 2009 Quality Council of New York Life Insurance Company. As a member of the Quality Council, Ogura is among the most successful of New York Life’s elite sales force. She has been an agent for the company since January 2009 and associated with the general office in Honolulu.
Andrew P. Boyles has been promoted to vice president of Operations Group Administration from assistant vice president for Bank of Hawaii. Boyles will be responsible for establishing and aligning compliance and risk processes with the bank’s overall strategic plan.
