Paul J. Angello has been hired as senior vice president and director of Credit Review for Bank of Hawaii. His responsibilities include managing the credit review team and identifying, measuring and reporting credit risk issues and trends. Angello brings extensive credit review experience to the position.
Craig Nakamoto has been appointed health and regulatory lawyer for Kaiser Permanente’s Legal and Government Relations department. Nakamoto will assist with day-to-day work of compliance, provider operations, health plan regulatory matters as well as hospital matters. He has more than 20 years of hospital counsel and compliance administration and most recently served as director of communications at the Hawaii Community Development Authority.
Allison Wong has been named interim director of The Contemporary Museum. She previously held the position of assistant curator at the museum and curated over 100 exhibitions of local and national artists. Throughout her career, she’s also served as an art consultant for The Fine Art Associates. Wong earned a bachelor of arts degree in art history from Mills College in Oakland, Calif.
Kayla Samascott has been promoted to account executive for Hastings & Pleadwell: A Communication Company. Samascott joined the company as an intern in February and now serves as project manager on a campaign to reach U.S. college students for the National Cyber Security Alliance account, among others. She also works on Hawaii Reserves and oversees the City & County of Honolulu’s current recycling campaign account.
Kevin McKee has been hired as a project architect for Philip K. White & Associates, a local “green” architecture firm. In this position, McKee will be responsible for design and project management as well as implementing a BIM modeling protocol. He previously owned and managed Kevin McKee Architecture.
Gwen Yamamoto-Lau has been named president of the Hawaii Community Reinvestment Corporation (HCRC). Yamamoto-Lau previously served as president of Hawaii Central Credit Union, senior vice president/regional manager with Central Pacific Bank and assistant vice president at First Hawaiian Bank. She brings more than 20 years of banking and finance experience to the corporation.
