David Arakawa has been named senior vice president general counsel and corporate secretary for Hawaiian Airlines. He previously worked as corporation counsel for the City and County of Honolulu over the past eight years.
Bryan S. Ginoza has been promoted to associate at Richard Matsunaga & Associates Architects. His projects have included commercial and federal venues.
Carol H. Hirai has been promoted to associate at Richard Matsunaga & Associates Architects. Hirai specializes in interior design. She currently heads the firm’s interior design section.
Ed Schwarzinger has been appointed director of information technology for Roberts Hawaii. Schwarzinger previously worked as director of information technology for Nishimoto Trading Company.
Janice Nillias has been named executive director of the Hawai’i chapter of the American Liver Foundation. She previously was the associate director of philanthropy for The Nature Conservancy of Hawaii.
James Gillespie has been appointed executive chef at Koolau Catering Partners. He previously worked as executive chef for Sunset Grill in Restaurant Row.
Ann Stamp Miller has been named a Fulbright scholar in American Studies. She is an associate professor for TransPacific Hawaii College.
Cheryl Hoffman has been named assistant director of revenue management for the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa. She will be responsible for developing and analyzing short-and long-term forecasts, analyzing trends in inventories and rates including occupancy, goals and product.
Layna Kaaialii has been named director of strategic partnerships for KHON. She has been a member of the station’s sales and marketing.
Dana Akeo has been promoted to tenant coordinator for General Growth Properties. Akeo will be responsible for overseeing all tenant construction at Ala Moana Building, Ala Moana Plaza and Ala Moana Pacific Center. Akeo has worked for General Growth Properties since 1996.
