Ethlyn Kanemura has been appointed branch supervisor for Aloha Pacific Federal Credit Union’s Fort Street branch. In this position, Kanemura will be responsible for the direct supervision of day-to-day operations and the training of all staff at the branch. She also will coordinate staff work schedules and monitor performance to maintain integrity and efficiency of the credit union.
Karina Carvajal has been promoted to general manager of Auntie Pasto’s Beretania. Carvajal has more than 28 years’ experience at the Italian eatery and will oversee all operations, including cash flow, billing, inventory, managing and training staff, and quality assurance.
Stephanie C. Kanoa has been promoted to co-manager for Hawaii Kai Retirement Community, adding to her current title of marketing manager. In her added role, Kanoa will supervise front desk receptionists and security personnel. She also is responsible for resident relations by overseeing resident satisfaction, evaluating resident needs and responding to emergencies at the facility.
Gaye Johnston has been named director of operations for Housing Solutions Inc. In addition to managing the company’s legal, human resources, IT and finance operations, Johnston will take on supervision of four homeless shelters and two low-income housing projects. She has a decade of experience at HSI and is a certified public accountant in the U.S. and a chartered accountant in Canada.
Melissa Current has been promoted to manager of First Insurance Company of Hawaii’s Surety and Fidelity Department. Current previously served as the executive underwriter in the department and has been with the company since November 2009. She has more than 11 years’ experience in the financial services industry, including leadership roles at The Hartford, among others.
