Mark J. Bennett, former state attorney general, has been named director of Starn O’Toole Marcus & Fisher. In this position, he will specialize in complex litigation at both the trial and appellate levels. Bennett was appointed attorney general by Gov. Linda Lingle in 2003 and served two consecutive four-year terms, making him the longest-serving attorney general in Hawaii’s history.

T. Kimo Blaisdell has been appointed director of investments for The Queen’s Health Systems. He brings 20 years of experience in the investment and financial services industry, and joins QHS from his role as senior vice president of Robecco Investment Management, where he headed up the firm’s Honolulu office. In this new job, Blaisdell’s responsibilities include the operational oversight of QHS’ investment and pension portfolios.

Toru Adachi has been named regional assistant director of sales for Japan for the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa. Adachi joined the Hilton Hawaii region in February 2008 after working at Renaissance Ilikai and Hawaii and Maui Prince hotels in various sales capacities, most recently as director of Asian sales.

Paul Bursey has been promoted to administrator for Kulana Malama, a nursing facility for medically fragile children. Bursey will now oversee all aspects of the 30-bed facility in Ewa, including resident outcomes and a respite care program for families. He has been director of nursing services at the facility since October 2006.

Linda Taylor has been named admissions coordinator for Hospice Hawaii. Taylor brings extensive experience as a registered nurse in geriatrics and long-term care, and now will work with referring hospitals, physicians and other care providers to facilitate patient admittance.

Aulani K. Loui has been appointed clinical liaison for Hospice Hawaii. In this position, Loui will work with staff at hospitals, physicians’ offices and nursing homes to provide referral services to Hospice Hawaii. She brings more than 11 years of experience in sales and marketing.

Mark Mahler has been appointed senior director of sales for Kaiser Permanente Hawaii. Mahler has more than 20 years of sales and management experience. In this position, he will oversee sales and provide leadership for an expanded sales team, among other duties.
