Fred A. Alvarado has been promoted from assistant vice president to vice president and branch manager at Bank of Hawaii’s Mapunapuna branch. In this role, Alvarado leads and develops a team that executes the division’s business plan to meet financial objectives, customer service targets and community support. He joined the bank in 1999 as a human resources specialist.
Kevin Kim has been appointed account representative supervisor for Hawaii commercial health insurer UHA. Prior to joining UHA, Kim served as a training manager at Hawaiian Telcom. With more than 15 years’ experience in training and customer service, Kim will lead the account representative team in providing customer service to UHA’s employer groups.
Akila Takabayashi has been promoted to regional director of sales for Japan for the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa. Takabayashi, who previously served as regional assistant director of sales for the Far East Sales, began his career with Hilton at the Hilton San Francisco as a sales manager before being promoted to director of sales for Asia. He joined the Hawaii region in November 1996 as regional sales manager for Far East.
Richelle Thomason has been hired as director of business development and client relations for Commercial Roofing & Waterproofing Hawaii Inc. Thomason will be responsible for generating new business leads and assessing marketing opportunities, among other duties.
