Neil Takekawa has been appointed chief operating officer of the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii. Takekawa will be responsible for the overall operations of JCCH, including public relations, membership and volunteer management. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Japan America Society of Hawaii and is a member of the Hawaii Asia Pacific Association. He brings to the position a wealth of knowledge of Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii, having served on the center’s board of directors for more than three years.
Kevin Schlag has been appointed as university technology officer of Brigham Young University- Hawaii in Laie. Schlag will be responsible for the network infrastructure, enterprise information systems and IT operations for the 2,500-student university. He has been with BYU-Hawaii since 1996. Actively involved in the community, Schlag is a board member for Laie Community Association, assistant cross country coach for BYU- Hawaii and serves as a bishop of a local LDS Church congregation.
Kevin Matsuda has been hired by Hawaii National Bank as assistant vice president and loan officer. Matsuda has 17 years of experience in the financial services industry serving in a variety of positions, including corporate banking analyst, small business lending manager and commercial banking officer. He most recently served as senior credit services officer at American Savings Bank. He is on the board of the Hawaii Council on Economic Education and chairs the Internal Affairs Committee. He is also a director of the Young Business Council and a member of the Society of Young Leaders Planning Committee.
