Claire Olsen Johnson has been elected to serve a two- year term as chairwoman of the Punahou School Board of Trustees, becoming the first woman to hold the post in the school’s 170-year history. A board member since 1974, Johnson has served on various committees that include financial aid, development, scholarship and the executive committee. In addition to her service at Punahou School, Johnson has been an active board member of the American Heart Association, Honolulu Academy of Arts, the Garden Club of Honolulu and the Junior League of Honolulu.
Richard Araiza has joined Oahu Publications Inc. as direct mail manager. Araiza has more than 18 years of mailing experience in Hawaii and California. In his new capacity, Araiza will work closely with the sales staff in creating direct mail campaigns and assisting with mailing solutions. Araiza will oversee all mailing operations including MidWeek, MidWeek Kauai and direct mail. Oahu Publications Inc. is one of the largest direct mailers in Hawaii. Araiza is also a youth baseball coach in Mililani and the Sparky’s director for AWANA Ministries at Calvary Chapel Pearl Harbor.
Lynn Arce has been promoted by Royal State Insurance Ltd. to manager and customer service representative. She has been with the company since 1992 serving as corporate secretary and administrative assistant to the president and CEO.
Joseph M. Peters, Ph.D., has been selected as Chaminade University’s new dean of the Education Division. Peters had been the director of the School of Education, Northern Marianas College. He was a professor at University of West Florida from 1998 to 2011. In addition, since 2005 he has served as a joint program reviewer on the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education/Florida Department of Education.
Windy Davis-Bentley has been promoted by Keiki Sitters from sitter to supervising sitter. She has completed her Operation: Military Kids certification course required to supervise group childcare events for the military. Davis-Bentley has raised two children of her own with special needs and has worked for Keiki Sitters for almost three years.
Charles Roy “Chuck” Kelley, M.D., has taken over the responsibilities as board chairman of Outrigger Enterprises Group. Kelley takes this position as former board chairman and now board emeritus, and his father, Richard R. Kelley, M.D., has stepped down.
