Esther Sada has been hired by Bright Light Marketing as marketing manager. Sada will be responsible for providing strategic marketing and planning expertise to develop and implement activities for the firm’s clients. In addition, she will have direct responsibility for clients, including Hale Ho Aloha, Hawaii Audiology Consultants and Hawaiian Springs Water.
Steven Tam has been hired at AARP Hawaii as director of advocacy. Tam worked as a legislative consultant with AARP Hawaii during the 2011 legislative session, where he was a key team member on a successful campaign to defeat the pension tax. He comes to AARP with more than 20 years of management experience with Prudential Locations and Verizon. Before joining AARP, Tam worked at Prudential Locations, where he oversaw departments generating $500 million in annual sales. He also directed training, review, and contract/issue resolution for approximately 175 real estate agents.
Greg Concilla has been elected slate officer for The Rotary Club of Ala Moana’s 2011-2012 term. Concilla will head the leadership team. He is vice president of Valenti Print Group and has been a Rotarian for six years. He will lead the club with the 2011-2012 Rotary International theme of “Reach Within to Embrace Humanity” at the Thursday luncheon meetings held weekly at Ala Moana Hotel. Several community and international service projects also are planned for the coming year to achieve several humanitarian goals and support Rotary programs at local, national and international levels.
Ed Saunders has been appointed director of rooms at Pacific Beach Hotel in Waikiki. Saunders has worked for HTH Corporation (which owns Pacific Beach Hotel) since attending college at the University of Hawaii, starting in 1985 as a bellman. He worked in several management positions at Pagoda Hotel and was appointed general manager in 2003 until the hotel was sold in October 2010.
