Jay Kaneshiro has been promoted by Desert Island Restaurants from director of operations Hawaii to vice president operations Hawaii. Kaneshiro will oversee the company’s Hawaii Ruth’s Chris Steak House and Romano’s Macaroni Grill restaurants. He has been with Ruth’s Chris since 1997 and has held various management positions with the company.
Jennifer Townsend has been named YMCA of Honolulu’s executive director of the Leeward YMCA. In her new position, Townsend will manage dayto-day operations, oversee special events and fundraising activities, and manage a staff of 105 at the 45,000-squarefoot facility. Townsend has held various YMCA management positions for more than 12 years, most recently as executive director of the Mililani YMCA.
Paul Kaiser has been appointed chief operating officer (COO) of Hawaii-Western Management Group (HWMG). Kaiser has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry in benefit plan design and management, finance and budgeting, underwriting, sales and marketing, product development, strategic planning, self-funding and third-party administration. As COO, Kaiser will be responsible for planning, organizing and overseeing activities to ensure the company achieves its strategic objectives. Prior to joining HWMG, Kaiser was director of health benefits for JELD-WEN Inc., an Oregonbased international window and door manufacturer with more than 11,000 employees in the United States and 22,000 employees worldwide.
Martha L. Camacho was promoted by First Hawaiian Bank from vice president and area manager to vice president and deputy manager of its Residential Real Estate Division. Camacho joined the bank in 1986 as a loan representative in the Maite Branch on Guam, and later joined the Main Banking Center in Honolulu as a vice president and business banking officer. She was most recently vice president and area manager at the bank’s Wahiawa Branch.
Lei K. Yoshizu been named office manager of Cadinha & Co LLC, one of Hawaii’s oldest local registered investment advisers with more than $700 million under management. Yoshizu is now responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the firm and oversees the support staff. She was previously a trader for the firm.
