Jon McKenna has been promoted to assistant vice president, business development for Certified Management Inc. He will be part of the team responsible for the acquisition of new association clientele. He joined the Certified Management team in 1999 as an account executive and soon after earned the title of director of systems.
Mari Asano has joined Cowabunga! Computers as a junior web developer. She does in-house graphics and design.
Shaun Salvador has been promoted to Pearl City facility manager of Hawaii Self Storage from assistant general manager of the Salt Lake location.
Steve Hatayama has been promoted from general manager of Storage Solutions to the facility manager for the Salt Lake branch of Hawaii Self Storage. He will manage day-to-day operations at the newly opened Pearl City location and the original Salt Lake location.
Kalowena Komeiji has been named publisher of the Downtown Planet. Komeiji previously served as vice president of community relations with the Hawaii Public Television Foundation for three years.
Albert Yazawa, M.D., has been appointed medical director of the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation for the Oahu region, which consists of Maluhia and Leahi hospitals. He previously served as medical director for both Kula Hospital and the Maui Memorial Medical Center Extended Care Unit.
Brian Allen has been appointed vice president-general business direct sales for Hawaiian Telcom. He previously worked as director of sales for Cincinnati Bell Telephone.
Lester Chu has been appointed vice president-strategy and business development for Hawaiian Telcom. Chu previously worked as vice president of marketing and strategic planning with Verizon Information Services in Dallas.
Gil Mendelson has been appointed vice president-financial planning and analysis for Hawaiian Telcom. He previously served as vice president and general manager of AT&T Wireless-Hawaii.
Avis Takamatsu has been elected president of the Junior League of Honolulu for 2005-06. Takamatsu works in sales for Indich Collection.
