Nate Smith has been named president of the Pacific and Asian Affairs Council board of governors. Smith is the president of Oceanic Time Warner Cable. He has been an active member of Pacific and Asian Affairs Council’s board since 2004.
Connie E. Haeske has been promoted to vice president and retail sales director of Central Pacific Bank’s retail banking division. She joined Central Pacific Bank in 2002 as an assistant vice president and deposit product manager. Haeske has more than 24 years of banking experience in financial sales and marketing.
Dee Ann Tsurumaki has been named chef de cuisine at the CanoeHouse restaurant at the Mauna Lani Resort. Her past work history includes serving as head chef at Felix in Hong Kong, and as executive chef at Roy’s on Maui and in Honolulu. She has 35 years in the culinary industry.
Michael Ruley has joined Hawaii Pacific University as a member of the board of trustees. He is the chief executive officer of Hawaiian Telcom.
Dean Kapoi has been promoted to manager of freight operations for Young Brothers. Kapoi previously served as manager for the company’s Honolulu operations. He joined Hawaiian Tug & Barge/Young Brothers in 1999 as personnel and industrial relations specialist.
Keith Kiyotoki has been promoted to manager of marketing, customer service and sales for Young Brothers. Kiyotoki previously served as a the firm’s sales representative. He joined Hawaiian Tug & Barge/Young Brothers in 2002.
Hazel Beh has accepted the appointment of associate dean for academic affairs at the William S. Richardson School of Law. Beh will serve as a key liaison between the faculty and the rest of the law school community, and assisting with academic planning and administration.
Marcia E. Lee has been named president of the board of trustees for the Honolulu Theatre for Youth. She is a business-woman and community volunteer. Lee has been an HTY trustee for the past 10 years.
