Indigo is celebrating 15 years of business with back-to-back nights of music, beginning Friday, Nov. 14, with resident DJs G-Spot, Compose, Eskae, DJ Mark, Lava and Sovern T.
And on Saturday, it’s an all-out ride for your senses with brothers David Cruz (Indigo chef) and John Cruz joining forces to present an incredible dinner and two concerts.
Presented by Double-O-Spot and Get Fresh, the Friday night party will kickoff the festivities with an open bar from 9 to 10 p.m. in the Opium Den. Then it’s three rooms of music with DJs, bands and hip-hop acts.
Everyone 21-and-over is invited and as an anniversary gift, cover is free. Table service and champagne reservations are available. For more info, e-mail .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
On Saturday, Grammy and Hoku award winner John Cruz will be taking the stage as his older brother handles the preparations in the kitchen. The early show (6 p.m.) begins with a $65 prix fixe menu and concert.
“Me and my brother have always really had a close relationship, and I’m just happy that he’s home because he’s been gone for a long time,” says John Cruz of his brother David, who returned to Hawaii about six months ago. “He’s always been a great cook and the stuff he’s doing at the restaurant is incredible.”
The dinner will start with lomi salmon with preserved cucumber and oven-dried organic tomato and sweet onion on a crisp crostini, topped with minced French chives, Waimanalo baby arugula-cress salad with tear-drop tomatoes, hand-shaved pecorino and smoked bacon confetti, all topped with a tempura sweet white shrimp and aioli.
Guests can choose from three entrees: free range breast of spiced chicken with Indigo’s peanut sauce, Chinatown fresh vegetables and steamed rice or fresh Pacific catch of the day with vanilla cocoa bean curry sauce, steamed baby bok choi and steamed rice, or tender grilled rib-eye steak with a red wine demi glaze, Chinatown fresh vegetables and wasabi mashed potatoes. A vegetarian menu is also available.
And dessert choices are Many Times Rich Goat Cheese Cake with mango sauce or Double Double Chocolate Torte with ruby red raspberry coulis.
During dinner John will perform a more acoustic set, then turn it up a notch with his band for the late show at 10 p.m. The late night show is $15 at the door.
“The first show will probably be a softer show,” says John. “It will probably be more laid back and mostly acoustic. After dinner they’ll clear the room and move out the tables and I’ll be doing a more upbeat two-hour concert.”
Indigo is located at 1121 Nuuanu Ave. For reservations or information, call 521-2900.
