For album No. 4, Typical Hawaiians decided on a mix of chart-topping hits dating back to its 1996 debut in the local music scene, such as Crazy, You Light Up My Life, One Thing, You That I Want, Everytime,
Positive Vibrations, Strange Love, Killer Surf Sessions and Feelin’ Irie.
The album, The Best of Typical Hawaiians: Good Times Galore, also includes two new tracks, Honolulu City Life featuring Notch
from the group Born Jamericans, and Good Times Galore featuring Peetah and Mojo Morgan from Morgan Heritage.
A new music video on Honolulu City Life will be on OC-16 and MTV and VH1,” says original group member Thomson Enos.
Enos and the two other original members, Taz Vegas and Kahi Fernandez, have since added Revelation Kalalui, Eric Ho and Kalani Kealoha to their group.
“We are a more independent group now,” adds Enos. “We have our own recording studio and produce our own music.”
Typical Hawaiians received a Na Hoku Hanohano award for Reggae Album of the Year in 2000 for its debut album, In A Positive Vibrations. Its popular island-reggae sound has taken the band throughout the world, including Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Europe and the Mainland.
They bring it back to their roots, performing the music that brought them here. They also continue to move forward and are already in the studio working on new music.

This month, the 12-year-old debuts her own album, Angel of the Islands.
The soprano soloist connects both her Tongan and Irish heritage in this album, embracing the tradition of oral tradition and storytelling.
The album includes a very old art song, The Last Rose of Summer, two Celtic songs, two classic sacred songs, the Bach/Gounod Ave Maria and Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring, and her signature song, Danny Boy.

Ahovelo began her vocal education at age 8 under the tutelage of vocal coach Eunice DeMello. Her newest mentor is Fiona Molloy, who has instructed Kiana in musicality with the “sean-nos” style of traditional Gaelic singing.
Ahovelo’s short-range goals are to attend the very prestigious performing arts school Interlochen in Michigan, then perhaps Juilliard or La Scala ...
Another album to hit shelves is Still Standing from Shane Kahalehau aka HHB (Hawaiian Home Boy).
Kahalehau’s music profession began as a member of the Hawaiian Rhythm Band. He went on to perform with groups such as Island Heat and Sly Dog. He also shared the stage with entertainers such as Marty Dread, Darrell Labrado, Pure Aloha, Bu La’ia, Sudden Rush, Lucky Dube, Third World, Inner Circle and Ben Myas. From stage to studio, Kahalehau also spent 10 years as a radio personality on Maui’s KPOA 93.5 FM.
His debut reggae-influenced album captures his musical and personal experiences in its 10 tracks: Your Turn, Truth, Mama, No Promise For Tomorrow, Spiritual War, Tear Down The Walls, That’s Life, Never The Same, Master, Music & Me and Still Standing ...
