A large ho’omaika’i (congratulations) goes out to all the members of Lex Brodie’s Tire Company team after receiving the BBB’s first international Excellence in Customer Care Award. It is the first business in Hawaii to win a prestigious BBB international award, an honor that speaks volumes for owner Scott D. Williams (pictured here with son Seth, 9).

“We have been given a platform on the international level. We strive to lead our team to be caring, attentive, dedicated and compassionate when it comes to serving our customers. This recognition validates our efforts and motivates us to continue in the same upward direction,” says Williams who was on MidWeek’s cover Aug. 9, 2006.

One of the main elements that led to this award is LBTC’s Customer Bill of Rights, which encourages feedback and also serves to assure the customer of LBTC’s high service standards.“Our mission is to provide 100 percent customer satisfaction every time. If you have a concern, let a manager know. We welcome your ideas and suggestions,” Williams adds.

LBTC’s service goes well beyond its five Oahu tire locations, as LBTC Foundation makes continuous efforts to benefit our communities.

Promoting positive attitudes in children, LBTC Foundation’s ‘Thank You ... Very Much!” program asks students in grades 4-12 to write a thank you letter to someone in their lives, and also to choose a nonprofit organization they would like to help. Its “Earn & Learn Recycling” program partners with the City and County of Honolulu helping to promote the Roll Off HI-5 Recycling bins project, matching donations to the two highest-producing schools and helping children plan and execute fundraisers for various causes. It also helps recycling awareness and action.

For Williams, approaching each day and each obstacle begins with the right attitude.

“You are better served with an attitude that thinks of others rather than focusing only on what brings you satisfaction,” he says. “When you’re selfless and are moved to help others, it’s amazing when you see how your actions can touch others and the community.”

In the shops, LBTC has created the LB four-year unlimited tire-mileage warranty to help customers maximize their tires’ life, an exclusive offer for tire companies in Hawaii.
