Ballet Hawaii’s Black and White Ball
Guests at Ballet Hawaii’s Black, White & Haute extravaganza were transported to Paris with Moulin Rouge décor, can-can dancers in a Jim Hutchison-produced show, a French-inspired menu created by the Hilton Hawaiian Village’s chefs, and even a barge tour down the Seine to Normandy as part of the silent auction. The fundraiser, chaired by Ballet Hawaii president Susan Schull and board member Marion Philpotts Miller, celebrated the 30th anniversary of the organization and honored Mayor Frank Fasi for founding it in 1976. The former mayor was represented by his wife, Joyce, at the festivities, which concluded with dancing to the sounds of Kit Samson & Sound Advice.
