East-West Center International Affair
The East-West Center hosted its “An International Affair” at the Hilton Hawaiian Village recently.
Established by an act of Congress in 1960, the East-West Center is an educational and research institution that contributes to a peaceful, prosperous and just Asia Pacific community by providing a forum for international discussion and understanding.
The center’s Asia Pacific Community Building Award was given to Buck and Doreen Freeman, whose foundation gives $70 million to educational groups annually. The Freeman Foundation was established to honor the memory of Buck Freeman’s father Mansfield, founder of AIG.
