The Hawaii Friends of Civil Rights held its fourth annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. awards ceremony last month at Waialae Country Club. The event recognized Charlene Cuaresma, Bettye Jo Harris, state Sen. Gary Hooser, Jack Law and Judge Sabrina McKenna for promoting civil rights, diversity and justice.

Event proceeds benefit public and private civil rights organizations and HFCR’s efforts to promote justice and build bridges in the community.
