Hawaiian Telcom Homecoming Luncheon
Hawaiian Telcom welcomed back former and retired employees — from the days when it was known as Hawaiian Telephone, Verizon and various other names —for a Homecoming Luncheon at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Coral Ballroom. In addition to catching up with old friends, the former employees and retirees got to “talk story” with CEO Mike Ruley. More than 800 people attended the luncheon, hosted by Hawaiian Telcom, they were asked to rise and be recognized according to the decade they started with the company. Many started in the days when it was Mutual Telephone, includingmore than a dozen from the 1940s (but none from its foundingin 1883). Similar events were held on the Big island, Maui and Kauai.
