Hawaii’s Best 2006 Celebration
The best Hawaii has to offer in shopping, services, entertainment and food were awarded at the MidWeek and Star-Bulletin Hawaii’s Best 2006 Celebration on June 28 at the Hawaii State Art Museum. This annual gala for award recipients, as voted by the readers of the sister publication, also included cocktails, heavy pupus and entertainment by Don Tiki.
The tasting menu featured dishes from Gyotaku, Hee Hing, John Dominis, La Mer, Michel’s at The Colony Surf, Orchids at the Halekulani, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse, Desserts by Abi, and Honolulu Coffee Company. The highlight of the evening was a superb rendition of Kui Lee’s I’ll Remember You by Mayor Mufi Hannemann.
