More than 300 guests kept the torches burning for the cure at “Mondo Tiki,” the ninth annual Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s summer gala held at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel.

Guests enjoyed live and silent auctions, which raised nearly $225,000. Lucky winners received trips to Tahiti, a week in an oceanfront Malaekahana home and tickets to Oakland and San Francisco professional baseball and basketball games.
