Well, look no further than The Low End Theory Bar at The Living Room at Fisherman’s Wharf. DJs Compose, Solution, Jules and Delve1 spin “golden era hip-hop, ‘70s soul, good disco, thug rap, Miami bass, ‘90s dance, Nas, Portishead, Jay-Z, Mobb Deep, Mary J. Blige, J-Dilla ...” You get it. Looks good to us.

If you didn’t know, the American Apparel store is open in Waikiki on Kalakaua Avenue. Right now, my favorite thing is the Unisex Circle Scarf. What is essentially a huge piece of fabric with an approximate 60-inch circumference is the most versatile accessory you’ll ever own. It’s a lot of fabric, but that makes it so much more than a scarf. It can be worn as a long scarf, short scarf, hooded scarf, hooded capelet, shrug, hooded shrug, top, tube top, tube dress, one-shoulder draped scarf, skirt, dress - and those are just some of the obvious ways to wear it. Get creative and you’ll come up with about 20 more. The scarf comes in more than 10 colors. I have it in black, and I haven’t taken it off since I bought it. Love. - Sarah Honda

Windward Mall Food Court
As far as mall food goes, Windward Mall features some unique choices. Besides being home to Hot Dog on a Stick (a SMART favorite), Farrell’s and IHOP, Windward Mall can now call itself the home of the only chicken and waffles place on the island. Chicken and waffles have long been a soul food favorite - Roscoe’s in Southern California has the distinction of helping to popularize the odd yet completely delicious combination - and anyone who hasn’t tried it should definitely do so. Enter Sweet Fries, specializing in fried chicken, waffles and fries served with a variety of sauces, from Thai peanut to nacho to sweet chili to garlic ranch. Try the Okinawan sweet potato fries (purple, crispy and yummy) or the tofu fries. For dessert, try the waffle-battered fried ice cream.
