New York Fashion Week Fall 2007 The Fall 2007 Ready-to-Wear collections debuted at New York’s Fashion Week earlier this month, which got us all thinking about what to expect for the next fashion season. Some major trends include black (shown by 3.1 Philip Lim, Behnaz Sarafpour, Monique Lhuillier and Proenza Schouler, to name a few), mixed with bright, intense tones such as violet, ruby red and bright yellow (Diane von Furstenberg, Catherine Malandrino and Luella Bartley). Also hot are metallics (Vera Wang, BCBG Max Azria) and tweed and fur (Michael Kors, Badgley Mischka). With fall still many months away, we’ll have to wait to see what the biggest fall trends will turn out to be, and after seeing what these designers have created, we can’t wait!

The newest addition to Downtown’s growing scene (arts, culture, nightlife, cuisine) is Restaurant Epic, which opened this week.
Executive chef, Anthony Vierra (12th Avenue Grill, Grand Café and Bakery), has used his many years of culinary experience to create a “new American cuisine” menu that is innovative and affordable. He has taken the idea of American cuisine to the next level, incorporating foods and techniques from all over the world, and at the same time, creating the relaxed feeling of being at home - through his dishes. “Pulled short ribs with roasted garlic gnocchi, romaine and miso broth, please!” Open for lunch and dinner.
