AROUND TOWN REPORT
CHOP’s Beautiful Lengths Benefit Bash
CHOP, a full-service salon, wants your support Monday, Nov. 3, for its Beautiful Lengths Benefit Bash. No, it isn’t for the election, but it is for a worthy cause - the national organization Beautiful Lengths, which supports and encourages women who have lost their hair during cancer treatments. This free event from 4 to 8 p.m. features a silent auction, light pupus, drinks and entertainment by Tempo Valley, Makana and DJ Hi-Lo. But, more importantly, it is about the hair. Chop will provide a free cut and style for those donating their hair to Beautiful Lengths. To be a donor, hair must be a minimum of eight inches (straighten out and measure from just above the elastic band of ponytail to the ends), and hair can’t be bleached, permanently colored, chemically treated or more than 5 percent gray.
Hair colored with vegetable dyes, rinses and semi-permanent dyes is acceptable. Reservations are needed, so call CHOP at 585-7400 to reserve a beauty chair and, for more information, visit http://www.chopsalon.com. Gather your friends and vote YES for a fun night for a great cause.

Allisonizu Launch Party
Thursday, Nov.
6 6-8 p.m.
Pearl Ultralounge
Farewell, duct tape. So long, trips to the tailor and cuffs that are rolled under. Goodbye to wishes of being a few inches taller - and hello to Allisonizu’s Premium Petite Denim Line. On Nov. 6, fashion designer Allison Izu will host a launch party at Pearl Ultralounge, sponsored by SMART Magazine, introducing her much-anticipated Fall 2008 Collection. From 6 to 8 p.m., party guests will be the very first to see, try and buy five styles of her premium petite denim line: the sexy skinny jean, the basic boot cut, the high-waisted wide-leg jean, the dressed-up trouser and the flattering pencil skirt.
Stylists and the designer herself, Allison Izu Song, will be on hand to assist guests in picking the perfect pair. “Shopping for denim is not an easy task, and for petite women it’s even more difficult,” says Allison. “As a 5-foot-2-inch woman, I know how difficult it is to find clothing that fits a shorter frame. That’s what inspired me to design the collection.” To be a part of this event, e-mail .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address), and for more information on the five styles and sizing, visit http://www.allisonizu.com.
